MACHINING AND INSPECTION FOR PERFECTION
  • BELAC conducts rigorous, FAA-supervised engine tests to subject the turbine blades to extreme temperatures for extended periods, conditions far beyond those experienced in normal flight operation.
  • The BELAC facility allows for substantial testing including Static Oxidation, High-Cycle Fatigue/Vibration, Stress Rupture, Comparative Metalography, Comparative Chemistry, Airflow, and Weight.
BELAC employs state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment including Continuous Dress/Creep Feed Dual Wheel Grinders, Surface Grinders, Five Axis Laser Drilling Equipment, Five Axis EDM machines, Vacuum Braze and Heat Treat and Shot Peen equipment, in addition to a full-service Tool and Die shop equipped to permit in-house fabrication of casting and machining tooling.

State-of-the-art inspection equipment provides assurance that each manufactured part conforms to FAA-approved design data and is safe for operation. Some of the significant in-house inspections include CT Scanning, X-ray Filming and Development, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), Computerized Air and Water Flow, Borescope, and visual inspections with Optical Comparators, Video Measurement (VMM), and Coordinate Measurement.
