CHROMALLOY JOINT VENTURE - BELAC - ANNOUNCES NEW PRICING STRUCTURE FOR HIGH PRESSURE TURBINE ENGINE BLADES
BELAC LLC Reduces Price of PMA Engine Blades by 9 Percent, Saving Commercial Aircraft Operators Up to $300,000 Per Set

SAN ANTONIO, May 5, 2009 - Chromalloy announced today that its joint venture company, BELAC LLC, has reduced the cost of its High Pressure Turbine (HPT) blades by 9 percent.

"Under BELAC's new pricing structure, commercial and military aircraft operators can save an average $200,000 to $300,000 on a single set of HPT turbine blades over the purchase of original equipment manufacturer products," said Chong Yi, President, BELAC LLC. "Beginning immediately, BELAC prices are 9 percent lower than the previous cost to customers - delivering additional value in the form of savings .

"In today's operating environment, this price reduction will translate to a significant reduction in overall maintenance costs," Yi said. "While the original equipment manufacturers continue to raise prices for these parts, BELAC has chosen to adjust our price structure down to reduce the cost to the customers."

Over the course of seven years and approximately 200 million flight hours, BELAC's HPT blades have demonstrated outstanding high quality, reliability and performance, Yi said.

"Our engineered blades are subject to the very same FAA requirements and scrutiny as OEM blades, but cost significantly less - and for commercial and military aircraft operators that translates to significant savings."

The actual price for a set of blades for a single gas turbine engine varies based on the engine model, quantity and other factors.

The "cycles" or takeoffs and landings between engine overhaul vary from operator to operator. BELAC PMA (Parts Manufacturing Approval) blades have demonstrated superior on-wing maintainability and lower overhaul costs when removed from service and inspected.

"Over the life cycle of the aircraft, BELAC technologies and engineered parts deliver multiplied cost savings," Yi added.

Many commercial aircraft operators still purchase new blades from an engine OEM (original equipment manufacturer), Yi said. "But these operators have the ability to significantly lower their maintenance costs by purchasing engineered parts from BELAC that fully meet or exceed FAA standards," he said. "Our PMA parts are a proven and viable alternative, and our value proposition just got stronger with this additional 9 percent price reduction."

PMA replacement parts are FAA certified to meet or exceed the performance, reliability and durability specifications of OEM parts for gas turbine engines.

BELAC also offers immediate delivery and shipment of CFM56 and CF6 HPT blades to operators anywhere in the world for AOG (aircraft on ground) events or unscheduled maintenance.

BELAC LLC is a joint venture formed in 1998 by Chromalloy and several major commercial airline partners.
